Pipeline Angels is challenging the norm that, in order to hold a successful professional networking event, alcohol should be provided.
In November 2017, we announced a no-alcohol policy at Pipeline Angels and since then we have only hosted alcohol-free gatherings.
From company happy hours and restaurant meetings with investors, to kegs at tech offices and bars at conferences, alcohol may be creating unsafe environments for women, non-binary people, men of color, anyone who may be sober, in recovery, as well as observing religious practices.
“I have witnessed negative situations caused by alcohol being present at non-Pipeline Angels events and, while I did not have a say on how each organization responded to these incidents, I believe Pipeline Angels can lead the way by modeling an alcohol-free culture,” said Natalia Oberti Noguera, our Founder & CEO.
Pipeline Angels is committed to creating safe spaces.
We’re excited to have you join us at a future Pipeline Angels event and hope our decision will inspire you to consider different ways to bring your community together.
