Samantha Parent Walravens is an award-winning journalist, author and mother of four children. Her 2011 book, Torn: True Stories of Kids, Career and the Conflict of Modern Motherhood, was acclaimed by the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times, and reached #1 on Amazon for books on Parenting. She writes about motherhood, career, work-life balance and other topics for publications including the Huffington Post, Modern Mom, Healthy Women, Salon.com, PC World and Marin Magazine. Samantha has been a guest on The Today Show, Good Morning America, and NPR. She is working on a new book titled Geek Girl Rising: Unleashing the Power of Women in Tech, which profiles successful women in technology and shares their tips for thriving in the industry. Samantha is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Princeton University and has a Masters in Literature and Women’s Studies from the University of Virginia.
