Cheng-Ling Chen grew up Taiwanese in South America. She is the mother of two boys, ages 4.5 and 1.5. Prior to being Mom-in-Charge, she was a creative writer with focus in nonfiction essays and online blogs on women’s health and fitness. Prior to writing, Cheng-Ling practiced transactional law with Latham & Watkins in San Francisco, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. She also has experience advocating for immigrant women seeking protection under the Violence Against Women Act and for immigrant children seeking refugee status. Cheng-Ling holds a BA from Brown University, a JD from UC Berkeley School of Law, and an MFA in Creative Writing from University of San Francisco.
