Tara is an experienced product manager who has worked at established and startup companies including AltaVista, Terra Lycos, Raging Bull, iammoving.com, and yet2.com. Her career started in public relations at The Weber Group, where she worked with clients including America Online, Sybase, and Citrix Systems in Boston and Palo Alto before joining the team that opened a San Francisco office working with startup technology and consumer-internet clients. She recently returned to the Boston area after a decade in the UK, where she was a full-time mom and advised local and national not-for-profit social enterprises on marketing strategy, fundraising, and efforts to achieve self-sufficiency through service-delivery revenue models. She instigated a local group for women interested in active, engaged philanthropy, and chaired several community groups. In business school, her thesis was sponsored by the venture capital arm of London-based NESTA. It focused on early-stage venture capital, in particular how angel investors could better support their portfolio companies and address the funding gap between seed-stage and major VC investment. She was a Sloan Fellow at London Business School, earning an MBA/MSc in Leadership and Strategy, and earned a BA in English Literature at College of the Holy Cross. Tara has four children, one husband, and two golden retrievers. She holds citizenship in the UK and USA.
