Katie is the CEO & Founder of Koya Leadership Partners, a national executive search firm serving the nonprofit sector. Katie has been building senior leadership teams at leading national and international nonprofit organizations since Koya’s founding in 2004. With over 18 years of experience as an organizational development professional, Katie has worked collaboratively with founders, boards, and donors to deepen the impact of today’s most pioneering mission-driven organizations.
In addition to executive search, Katie’s particular areas of focus include leadership, retention, and diversity initiatives. She takes on a number of select consulting projects each year in the area of organizational development, most recently with Education Pioneers. Katie began her career in the public sector as a human resources generalist at the Institute for Teaching and Research on Women and the Women’s Law Center of Maryland. She then moved to the private sector, working as a human resources manager for several mid-size corporations. Katie holds a MSc in Human Resource Development from Towson University and a BA in English and Women’s Studies from University of New Hampshire. She consults to a number of nonprofits, including the Red Hook Initiative, as well as the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance.
