Carol is currently a Managing Director with Golden Seeds and has responsibility for the Golden Seeds Knowledge Institute. Carol is also a member of New York Angels and President of The Charian Group, LLC, a consulting company. Prior to forming The Charian Group, Carol was Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Board of Westwood Management Corporation, a registered investment advisor. Carol has held senior investment banking positions with Berkshire Capital Corporation, Prudential-Bache Capital Funding, and Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. Inc. Carol has served as an Adjunct Professor of Finance in the Graduate School of Management at The University of Dallas in Texas and at the Lubin Graduate School of Business at Pace University in NY. Carol currently serves as a mentor to the Pipeline Fellowship, BluePrint Health Accelerator, and TechLaunch NJ Accelerator. She is a judge for the Wharton Venture Awards and a member of the Advisory Board of Urgent Consult, a digital health company. Carol has served on the New York Advisory Board of Astia, a global non- profit organization focused on accelerating access to capital by women entrepreneurs; Investors’ Circle, a network of socially-responsible private investors; The Dallas Women’s Foundation, an organization established to promote economic self-sufficiency for women and girls in the greater Dallas area; and The Women’s Opportunity Fund, a non-profit micro-lending enterprise. Carol holds a BA in Economics from Wellesley College, an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
