Megan is the Director of the Civic Accelerator at Points of Light. In this role she is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Civic Accelerator, including venture recruitment, program and curriculum development, portfolio monitoring and evaluation, direct investments, and development strategic program and philanthropic partnerships. As a social change and startup enthusiast, Megan has been part of a number of early stage nonprofit and for-profit ventures over the past 5 years. Prior to joining Points of Light, Megan led marketing, recruitment and outreach efforts for the Frontier Market Scouts Program, a startup fellowship program for young professionals interested in social venture and impact investing careers at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. During her time with FMS, the program successfully scaled internationally and is recognized as one of the top pre-professional programs in the sector. Earlier in her career, Megan worked in business development and communications for the Chicago-based startup, Healthcare Language Services, a turn-key language service startup for hospitals which was later acquired by a national language services provider. In addition, Megan has worked and consulted for game-changing organizations in the social enterprise sector including Village Capital, the Investor’s Circle, Blue Energy Partners, Gray Matters Capital, and Sustainable Life Media. Megan received an MBA in Socially Responsible Investment and MA in International Environmental Policy from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, and a BA in International Studies and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
